We will be holding an open day and an exhibition of students work at Aras Inis Gluaire on Wednesday 10th July from Midday until 4pm. Light refreshments on the day and all are welcome.

Short on points for college?

Rather than repeating the Leaving Cert, you can attend this course and get some real “hands on” experience and up to 400 points towards your college application. You will also get a training allowance (can often be more than standard Job Seekers see HERE for more information) and a contribution towards travel.

This course leads to a QQI Level 5 Multimedia Production major award. It is a full time course which will run from September 2019 until August 2020.


As this is a level 5 course, there is no need to feel out of your depth as you will be taken from an absolute beginners level right up to level 5 in a structured step by step way. Those who initially feel daunted will be amazed by what they can actually achieve once they start.

Tim Norton:

Tim Norton

Tim builds, maintains and upgrades content management websites. He has worked closely with the legal profession installing dedicated computerised accounts systems and has trained staff accordingly. Tim also helps people optimise and market their businesses through web and social media. He is a qualified trainer (FETAC level 6) and has helped in numerous business start ups through initial engagement as web designer. Tim teaches both Fetac level 5 multimedia studies and Fetac level 6 web design. He has a keen interest in commercial radio and has thousands of on air hours.

Tracie O’Leary

Tracie graduated from LYIT in 2009 with an honors degree in graphic design, she also holds qualifications in web design and digital marketing. She brings to the table industry experience from her time working with companies such as Bizzprint, Snap and Portwest. She enjoys helping the learners develop their creative skills, encouraging them to explore and experiment with visual and graphic communication throughout the course. In her spare time, Tracie dabbles with WordPress and social media blogging, she also enjoys sketching, art and photography.
