Privacy Policy

Áras Inis Gluaire Arts Centre is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website at arasinisgluaire.ie, how we use it, and the rights you have.

Who we are

Áras Inis Gluaire Arts Centre is an arts centre located at Belmullet, Co. Mayo, Ireland, F26 W5H0. For any privacy-related queries you can contact us by email at info@arasinisgluaire.ie or by phone at +353 97 81079.

Information we collect

When you contact us through the contact form on our website, we collect the information you provide, which may include your full name, email address, telephone number, postal address and the content of your message. The form also records whether you have agreed to our data-processing terms and whether you have chosen to receive news and updates from us.

When you browse the website, we and our service providers may automatically collect limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and the date and time of your visit. This is used to keep the site secure and to understand how visitors use it.

If you book or purchase tickets, this is handled by our booking provider, and if you make a donation, this is handled by our donations provider. Details of these third parties are set out below.

How we use your information

We use the information you give us to respond to your enquiries, to provide the services or information you have requested, to process bookings and donations, to send you newsletters and updates where you have asked to receive them, to protect the website against spam and abuse, and to improve our website and the experiences we offer. We rely on your consent where you submit a form or opt in to communications, and on our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving our website and services.

Newsletters and marketing

We will only send you marketing communications where you have opted in. You can withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time, either by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us directly.

Third-party services and data sharing

Our website relies on a number of third-party services that may process limited personal data on our behalf or in connection with your use of the site. Ticket bookings are processed through FareHarbor, which operates the booking system embedded on our booking pages and may set its own identifiers to manage your booking session. Donations are processed through iDonate. Some enquiries or applications may be collected via Google Forms. We use Jetpack to gather aggregate website statistics, Google reCAPTCHA to help protect our forms from automated abuse (subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms), and Akismet to filter spam submissions. Where we display maps or link to our social media, you may interact with services such as Google Maps, Facebook and Instagram, which are governed by their own privacy policies.

We do not sell your personal data. We only share it with the service providers described above, or where we are required to do so by law.

Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to respond to your enquiry, to meet any legal or accounting obligations, and to manage our relationship with you. Contact-form enquiries are typically retained for [RETENTION PERIOD] unless a longer period is required. Where you have consented to marketing, we keep your details until you unsubscribe.

International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your data continues to be protected, for example by relying on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Under data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data erased in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@arasinisgluaire.ie. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (www.dataprotection.ie).

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
