Miclael O’Boyle Solo Exhibition ‘exbiologica’ in Áras Inis Gluaire.
This exhibition will open on Saturday 16th May 2pm and will run until 27th June 2025.
“My work coerces the visual language of popular science through a distilled painterly and colourist intervention that create artificial forms that take their lead from the microscopic world.
I use microscopy and Scientific illustrations a primary source for my work with the aim to make non-visible that surrounds us visible, formalize it and animate it to create clean concise distilled works.
A colony of forms that become indicators for a range of varying ideas, aesthetics, structures and scientific references. As a painter I am interested in the fluidity of structure and the microscopic landscape to create portraits of the invisible. Currently I’m looking at Astro Biology in the of microscopic life in this solar system while referencing scientific and cultural mythology.”
