Club Scannánaíochta Iorras presents ‘That They May Face the Rising Sun’ in conjunction with Access Cinema in Áras Inis Gluaire on Thursday 10th October 8pm.
That They May Face the Rising Sun is a 2023 Irish film directed by Pat Collins. It is an adaptation of the 2002 novel of the same name by John McGahern. The film was nominated for 11 awards, winning Best Film, at the 2024 Irish Film & Television Awards. In the 1980s, a young couple Joe and Kate leave London for Ireland to live in Joe’s native County Leitrim.
